Four Final Thoughts on the Final Four April 7, 2009

Thought Number One:

Memo to CBS: Just because you have a sky-cam with some sort of six-degree-of-freedom drive train doesn’t mean that before every free throw I should be made to feel like I’m on a roller coaster that’s fallen off its track and is spiraling out of control toward the ground. Sheesh.

Thought Number Two:

Big ups to Clark Kellogg in the first Billy Packer-less Final Four in ages. Astute commentary and a sense of joy for the game that Packer lost around the time of the Great Depression.

Thought Number Three:

The venerable “One Shining Moment” was disappointing this year. Too much game-audio in the last few seconds. Too few big Carolina highlights.

Thought Number Four:

Interesting that Carolina took the foot off the gas pedal enough in the second half so that the loser of the Biggest Title Game Blowout in history is still… Duke.

As well it should be….props to the Heels, they played some very good defense and were impressive throughout the tournament. And I agree that having Clark instead of Billy was a nice change of pace. I really didn’t miss having Mr. “I Know Everything and Will Be Glad to Educate You” lecturing me every game.
